Espenbach's aim is to express his own or a persons ideas and inspirations into various metals. Metals like silver, gold and other metals like brass and copper. Also combinations from metals, stone and wood are possible.Once he has designed a piece of art he starts to process the artpiece step by step. The whole art-work process is processed by hand and only by hymself.
The techniques he uses to give shape to the chosen metal and design, consists of various precision silversmith techniques.
Techniques like chasing and repoussé is done with a hammer and various chisels and punches. Processing the techniques with a hammer and chisels it creates lining and when wished also relief into the metal plate. Also forging, soldering, cast work and mounting precious stones onto the art-work is what he manages.
These techniques take a lot of effort, precision and time to master them. Espenbach hymself mastered this techniques from childhood on and still refining them till today. He learned a lot of the basic techniques and skills from his artistic parents.
