Process

It all starts with an idea based on something wich inspired Espenbach or another person, client. Once he has designed a piece of art he starts to process the artpiece step by step.

The whole art-work process is processed by hand and only by hymself.

Often Espenbach first transfers the art-design onto a for instance silver plate and carefully marks out the different shapes on the plate and cuts them out with a small saw. Afterwards the finished design is precisely scribed and chased into the metal plate.

During the chasing and repoussé process the metal often has to be heated and quenched to accomplish the required flexibility. Precious stones can also be mounted at this stage. When the desired art-creation is finally processed, it can be filed, brazed and polished till a desired extent.
